     Path of the National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute" in independent Ukraine is the path to joining the Bologna process, to integration into European and world educational space. Kharkov Polytechnic University, according to the definition of the Charter, is really "a center of culture, knowledge and Research”, which is the University. The History of Kharkov Polytechnic since its existence has become an integral part of the scientific, technical, intellectual and cultural history of Ukraine. With the university associated Names of Laureate of Nobel Prize Landau L.L. and other well-known scientists.

     Kharkov Polytechnic effective uses all the opportunities given to it by the status of national university of Ukraine. NTU "KhPI" today -includes 23 faculties, 91 departments, Institute of tank troops by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, school for machine, scientific-technical library with fund about 2 million volumes of books, inter-branch institute for advanced studies staff, center for advanced studies, the newest information technology center, center for strategic planning and research department, three research institutes. The magistrates, post-graduate courses, doctoral studies, the scholars of the university annually protect more than 50 candidate and dissertation. At NTU "KhPI” are study more than 22 thousand students and 320 graduate students, including about one thousand –are foreign students from 31 countries of the world. They are taught by 1700 academics, 160 Doctors of Science and Professors and more than 800 - PhD lecturers. 17 honored workers of science and technology and honored workers of higher educational institutions of Ukraine, 8 laureates of State Prize, 3 academicians and Corresponding Members of NAS of Ukraine, 26 academicians of the branch of Science of Ukraine.

     University in recent years opened 35 new specialties, 7 new departments, 5 new faculties, including German faculty and the training courses in English.

      In 2011 the international affairs of National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnical Institute" had celebrated its 83 years. Now NTU "KhPI" continues to consolidate and expand its contacts with 108 foreign partners with 33 countries of the world (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Vietnam, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, India, Spain, Italy, China, Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, the USA, Hungary, France, Sweden, Vietnam, Georgia, Tajikistan and other countries).

Kharkiv

Kharkiv region is the most powerful educational and scientific center of Ukraine. Its potential is measured by the following indicators: 624 preschool educational institutions, 965 secondary ones, 111 out-of-school institutions, 58 vocational ones, 92 higher educational institutions of all levels of accreditation and over 200 scientific institutions. Kharkiv higher education is represented by 14 institutions that have the status of National, where about 292 thousand people study, what is very significant. During recent years scientific base of Kharkiv takes one of the leading places among regions of Ukraine for the scientific development and innovations. Kharkiv scientific schools are world-renowned.

Kharkiv is a city in North Eastern Ukraine; it is the administrative center of Kharkiv region. Kharkiv is the largest scientific, cultural, industrial and transport center of Ukraine.

The combination of potential of higher educational institutions and of research institutions let create appropriate conditions for the development of international education market. Almost all educational and scientific centers of Kharkiv actively cooperate with relevant EU and world institutions; they have many joint scientific and educational projects aimed at the involvement of Ukrainian scientists and specialists into joint research programs, they provide a gradual integration of the Ukrainian education system, while obtaining the standards required, into European system.

Today, when the borders of the countries which are the EU members are very close to Ukraine and the European institutions’ activity applies not only to new countries, but also to new areas of activity, information about the EU is particularly valuable and becomes increasingly important. Creation of the EU Information Center in the student capital of Eastern Ukraine lets understand better the processes of European integration of our state, provides with current and comprehensive information about the EU and its relations with the outside world.

All foreign students are provided with dormitory accommodation for 2-4 persons. The rooms are furnished  in according to European standards. On each floor of the dormitory there are exercise rooms for studying, kitchens where students can cook, rooms with clothes washer.

With a view to modernizing the university computer network in 2001 - 2003 years was laid about 7000 meters of fiber optic cable that is connected to a central node at the University buildings. Overall network at the University comprises 26 buildings and 5 dormitory.

The health of students and teachers at the University care the Center primary medical help (bath and Diagnostic Center) preventorium sanatorium with -100 fixed seats.

An university has a contemporary sporting complex with a track-and-field riding hall, 14 sporting halls, two pools, including 50-meter swimming pool, playing hall, specialized halls for the fight, gymnastics, table tennis,aerobics, 3 trainer halls, stadium with playgrounds for tennis, минифутбола and basket-ball, employments by a gymnastics, track-and-field, football. And also is present conference hall, educational audiences, hall for employments of task medical force. Employments are conducted for more than 30 types of sport activities. The presence of such base enables for active employment by sport to the students and employees of university, to show high results in different competitions, have high quality sportsmen in different types of sport.

In 1953 work on building began sports centre «Polytekhnyk» (general area of the apartments 2906 м2) in a pine-wood in the natural boundary Fygurovka on shore of North Dontsa near the city of Chugueva. Many generations of students and teachers keep thankful memory about it and now legendary place of summer rest and simultaneously tense trainings.

Mastering sports centre and buildingKarabah «Student» (general area of the apartments 6770 м2) in a canyon near Alushty on shore of the Black sea began in the middle of 1960th. In development of «Polytekhnyka» and «Student» considerable material facilities during ten years were inlaid.
